What to Expect
You have taken the first step in seeking out help for the upsetting symptoms or feelings you are experiencing. I am glad you have found me and hope we can work together in alleviating those distressing feelings for you. You can expect a warm and welcoming environment, a safe space, and judgement free zone. I offer individualized counseling to meet you where you are at and help you begin on the path to where you want to be.
When you sit with a counselor who is there to hold space with knowledge and compassion, there to listen to you without judgement, you are able to shift and gain insights that you may not be able to reach alone.
These insights can lead you to see things in a new light, to acceptance, and to being ready for change.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. I utilize Person Centered therapy to allow you to lead your session while I am a guide on the mental health journey. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy helps you focus on the present, internalized thoughts, and how to make those thoughts work best for your life. I utilize mindfulness and cognitive therapy to help you learn to respond rather than to just react. EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is a technique that can help enable people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that may have resulted from disturbing experiences. I can integrate EMDR as a brief focused treatment as part of therapy or it may be used as the focus for therapy. I am also a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor and may incorporate some calming techniques and/or somatic movements to allow the body to release stuck emotions.
Appointments
In-person and online telehealth appointments are both available for your convenience and preference. Your location may also influence your appointment type. I offer in-person sessions at my office in Sugar Land, TX. I offer online telehealth appointments to anyone located in Texas, Colorado, or Washington. Both in-person and telehealth sessions are effective and beneficial.

After booking an appointment, you will receive a link to a private and secure client portal. There will be digital paperwork for you to fill out on the portal. The portal will also be used for any future paperwork, documents, appointment changes, secure messaging, and resources.
Your First Appointment
You may feel a bit apprehensive or nervous for your first session. That is normal! I will do my best to put you at ease and provide a welcoming environment. Your first session will involve a little of us getting to know each other, your questions are welcome. We will do a brief overview of some of the paperwork you filled out and what brought you in. This session will also include some goal setting and making sure you are comfortable and that we are a good fit to work together.
